I.Our Story

how it all began.

It began in a coffee shop in a tiny town in Georgia. The traffic was unreasonable, the coffee was good, and neither of us were in a particular hurry to leave. We talked for hours about past, present, and future.

A few years later, on a serene lake in Norway after a long climb, one of us asked the question and the other said yes before it was quite finished.

Between the coffee shop and the lake came a thousand small things — pizza and cocktails, early flights, a dog with opinions, pilates and marathons. On May 29th 2027, we're inviting our closest friends and family to the beautiful French countryside to celebrate our wedding. We chose the Lot because it sits at the natural midpoint between the United States, France, and South Africa.

the
Château

Tucked away in the sun-drenched hills of the Lot, this stately 17th-century château feels like a place time forgot. Stone walls that have witnessed centuries of history now stand ready to welcome you, framed by rolling countryside and the quiet beauty of the French southwest. With the entire estate ours for the celebration, every garden path, golden-lit terrace, and hidden corner becomes part of the story.

IV.Questions

you might wonder.

Are children invited?

Given the travel required, we don't expect children to be able to attend. If you have a young child and plan on bringing them, please let us know so that we can make meal arrangements for them.

Is there parking on site?

Yes, at the front of the chateau. The country roads are very narrow at times, so please be careful. We recommend renting a car that is as small as possible but still has enough space for your luggage.

Have you registered anywhere?

Your presence and energy is the gift. If you would still like to contribute, a link will be provided on the website soon to access our registry.

What about photography?

We have asked guests to keep phones tucked away during the ceremony, there will be a professional photographer present. After that, please shoot to your heart's content, and feel free to share your photos with us. We would love to see them!

What should we wear?

Château formal. We're celebrating in a French country château with a garden setting, so we'd love everyone polished and elegant — think a romantic European wedding rather than black-tie stiff. No neon. You do not need to wear the wedding colors!

It is a garden setting, so choose your shoes accordingly — heels and lawn don't always agree. And do bring a warm layer for the evening; the countryside cools down once the sun sets.

Women

Floor-length gowns, sophisticated midi or maxi dresses, or elegant formal jumpsuits. Think a flowing floral or solid gown, a satin midi, or an off-the-shoulder dress.

Lovely choices

  • A tie or bow tie
